If you have a select input towards the right hand side of a page (like the one here, which has 40 options), containing some very long text and constrained to not go over the width of the column it’s in, the menu when you open the select goes off the right hand side of the window (in Firefox and IE7 at least). If your screen is small, your browser maximised, there’s no way to scroll the drop-down if you don’t have a mouse wheel, use the cursor keys, or similar. Most people will assume there’s nothing to scroll.

Can anyone think of a workaround?
